Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vince Cruise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tai Sonni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sonni has chosen Foo Fighters - Times Like These as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vince Cruise!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tai Sonni!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruise shoots in for a takedown but Sonni shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sonni tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cruise is able to avoid easily.

Cruise clinches up against the ropes.
Cruise throws an elbow but it misses.
Sonni wants to break free but Cruise has control.
Sonni is trying to break the clinch but Cruise is controlling him.

Sonni pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tai Sonni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sonni gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cruise to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Cruise is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sonni is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sonni has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Cruise is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sonni is controlling him.

Sonni got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cruise has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sonni has managed to get both his arms back between Cruise's legs - danger averted.

Cruise bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sonni's guard.

Cruise postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sonni wants to sweep but no luck.

Sonni throws a body punch but Cruise moves out of range.
Sonni throws a hook but Cruise avoids it easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sonni lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cruise has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cruise and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Cruise shoots in but Sonni avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cruise moves out of range of the strikes.
A punch combination from Cruise misses.
Sonni throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sonni throws a jab when Cruise was well out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cruise scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sonni in his tracks.
Sonni throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cruise counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Sonni wants to improve his position but Cruise is controlling well.

Cruise looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cruise tries to stand and escape but Sonni is controlling the position.
Cruise is pressing down on Sonni's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sonni is holding on for now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cruise has clasped his hands together around Sonni's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Sonni is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cruise's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Cruise! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Sonni has tapped! This one is allllll over!
