The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy shoots in looking for a takedown. Hammond tries to sprawl out of it but McCarthy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hammond manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by McCarthy or perhaps it was just good defense by Hammond which made him look bad.

McCarthy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

McCarthy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

McCarthy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McCarthy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McCarthy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Hammond has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCarthy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Tyler McCarthy will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hammond might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McCarthy kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
