Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Pendridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Pendridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pendridge gets a clinch.
Murphy wants to break free but Pendridge has control.
Pendridge has Murphy pressed against the cage, preventing Murphy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Pendridge jumps guard.
Pendridge on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pendridge tries to get out of the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pendridge is on top in guard.
Murphy being controlled here, momentarily.
Pendridge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murphy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pendridge's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Pendridge gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Pendridge shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murphy is trying to stand back up but Pendridge is controlling him

Murphy tries to kick Pendridge off but Pendridge keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Murphy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pendridge. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pendridge slows the pace down in half guard.
Pendridge looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Pendridge content to control rather than advance.

Pendridge has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
You get the feeling that Murphy really doesn't like being in this position too much.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Pendridge controlling from the full mount.
Murphy is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Pendridge looking for a guillotine from mount but Murphy is having none of it.

Pendridge tries to control but Murphy wriggling away.

Murphy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pendridge sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Murphy somewhat.
Pendridge tries to clinch but Murphy moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Murphy as Pendridge shoots in.
Murphy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pendridge drops his hands momentarily and Murphy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Murphy fails to land with a series of punches.
Pendridge is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Murphy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murphy misses with a body kick.
Murphy scores with a push kick.
Pendridge looks for the body kick but Murphy saw that one coming.
Murphy throws a head kick that misses.

Murphy lands a jab-cross combination.
Murphy fails to land with a series of punches.

Pendridge throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Murphy was covering up waiting for the punch and Pendridge finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pendridge passes Murphy's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Murphy is trying to stand.
Pendridge with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Murphy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pendridge.

Murphy tries to kick Pendridge off but Pendridge keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Pendridge decides to return to a standing position.
Pendridge throws a wild body kick that Murphy sees coming a mile off.
Murphy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Murphy looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Brandon Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pendridge takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Murphy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pendridge is looking to clinch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Murphy. That's going to slow Pendridge down.

Murphy tries to keep at a distance but Pendridge has taken the fight into the clinch.
Murphy is trying to break the clinch but Pendridge is controlling him.

Murphy is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pendridge is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Murphy to the mat. Murphy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Pendridge stops Murphy from standing up.
Pendridge is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Pendridge dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Murphy misses with a series of wild punches.
Murphy throws a wild body kick that Pendridge sees coming a mile off.
Murphy looks to land a body kick but Pendridge moved away.
Murphy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pendridge circles away quickly and effectively.
Pendridge slips a jab and a cross from Murphy.
Murphy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A combination from Murphy does no damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murphy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Pendridge drives through and clinches with Murphy against the cage.

Pendridge turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pendridge manages to end up in side control.
Murphy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Murphy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pendridge is controlling him well.

Pendridge taking a breather here.
Pendridge has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Pendridge decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Murphy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Murphy scores with a decent looking hook.

Pendridge closes the distance and clinches.
Pendridge wants a takedown.
Murphy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A short right from Pendridge on the inside.

Pendridge has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Murphy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Good control from Pendridge.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Pendridge is persistently looking for the submission but Murphy is defending it well.
Pendridge is controlling the position but Murphy somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pendridge stops Murphy from getting back to his feet.
Pendridge drops an elbow to the side of Murphy's head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luke Pendridge showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pendridge, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
