Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Waddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olli Kuhta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waddy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hurt - T.I.. Kuhta has chosen Break Out as his entrance music. Olli Kuhta has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Waddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Olli Kuhta!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Kuhta.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kuhta looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Waddy wants to clinch

and Kuhta moves into the clinch.
Kuhta makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Kuhta breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Waddy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Waddy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kuhta closes the distance looking to clinch
and Waddy counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kuhta is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Kuhta scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Waddy throws a few strikes from the bottom but Kuhta takes advantage and mounts!
Kuhta wants to control the pace but Waddy is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kuhta fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kuhta sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Waddy is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Kuhta controlling the position easily from mount.
Waddy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kuhta manages to capitalize on a mistake by Waddy to take his back!
Waddy is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Kuhta controls the position.
Waddy is trying to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Waddy trying to control but not successfully.

Waddy defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Waddy is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waddy can't escape the position.
Kuhta is trying to stick to Waddy's back but Waddy is turning into Kuhta. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kuhta's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Waddy.
Waddy wants to pass the guard but Kuhta is keeping the position.
Waddy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kuhta on the ground.
Kuhta preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kuhta seems keen to control Waddy's posture.
Waddy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kuhta throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
Kuhta has Waddy pulled in close to control his posture.
Kuhta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kuhta is looking for a triangle but Waddy pushes his legs off easily.
Kuhta looks gassed!
Waddy wants to pass the guard but Kuhta is keeping the position.
Kuhta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Waddy wants to get up but he can't break Kuhta's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kuhta looking for a guillotine here but Waddy defends easily.
Waddy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kuhta is keeping the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Olli Kuhta dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Waddy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kuhta counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kuhta has closed the distance and engaged Waddy in a clinch.
Kuhta is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Waddy is defending well for now.

Kuhta ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kuhta no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Waddy is posturing up here but Kuhta has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Waddy tries to roll out but it's too tight and Waddy has to tap! Slick submission there by Kuhta!
