PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Freddy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James's entrance music is We Want The Funk by George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars. A fine choice. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that William Wallace was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
James misses with a few strikes there.
Wallace closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
James lands an overhand right.


It looks like William Wallace has been cut.
Wallace showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from James.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wallace paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jab, jab by James - just one landing.
Wallace waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract James.
Wallace misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
James checks a leg kick.
Wallace steps to the side to avoid the strikes from James.
James looks to score with a jab to the body but Wallace is just out of range.
James scores with a hook to the body. Wallace takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James lands a nice looking body shot.
Wallace looks gassed!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

James manages to break the clinch.
Freddy James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Freddy James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
James misses with the combination.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts James, as that shot connected.
James with a jab.
Wallace takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Wallace tries to keep at a distance but James has taken the fight into the clinch.
James cracks Wallace with a nice body shot.
Wallace tries to break the clinch but James is controlling the position.
Wallace's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
James tries to land knees in the clinch but Wallace avoids the damage to the body.
Nice body punch from James - that landed with a thud.
James comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


That has opened up William Wallace's cut even more.
James is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Wallace tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. James smiles and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James punishes Wallace's body with a nice straight punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James sizes up Wallace with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Wallace swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and James counters with a lovely shot to the body.
James cracks a nice hook into Wallace's ribs.
James connects with a crisp jab.


The cut above William Wallace's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
James throws a series of punches but Wallace avoids them all with ease.
James lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Wallace can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from James and Wallace drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by James.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddy James!
