Strap's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Thunderstruck by ACDC. Jacque Strap has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Hansen misses its intended target.
Strap moves out of range as Hansen throws a body kick.

Strap darts in and clinches Hansen up against the cage.
Hansen creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Strap breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hansen is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Hansen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hansen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hansen slips a jab and a cross from Strap.

Hansen wants to slow Strap down by chopping away at his legs.

Strap lands with an overhand left.
Strap fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Strap shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hansen pinned against the cage. Hansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Strap counters by moving into the clinch.
Strap lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hansen backwards.

Strap breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Strap counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Strap takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hansen unloads a knee to the mid-section. Strap lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Strap's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Strap counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Strap.
Strap creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hansen's defenses.

It looks like Joaquin Hansen has been cut.
A frustrated look appears on Hansen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A right hand to the body from Strap.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hansen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Strap escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hansen misses with a looping right.
Hansen throws a lazy head kick
and Strap counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hansen looks gassed!
Strap slips a jab and a cross from Hansen.
Strap tries to bum rush Hansen with a series of wild strikes but Hansen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Strap lands a body shot.
Strap displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hansen throws out the jab.
Hansen misses with a body punch
and Strap cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hansen wants to clinch but Strap slips to the side
and Strap counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hansen throws a leg kick
and Strap counters with a left and a right that stings Hansen.
Strap throws a nice inside leg kick.
Strap will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hansen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Strap in his tracks.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hansen misses with a double jab
and Strap counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hansen is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Strap lands with a slapping head kick.
Hansen tries to clinch
and Strap counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Strap lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hansen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Strap makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Strap is looking to wear down Hansen with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Strap just misses with a punch to the body.

Strap throws a sloppy head kick and Hansen moves out of range easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
