Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Aerts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Aerts is looking to clinch.

Lawson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Lawson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Aerts has managed to free his arm - good work.

Lawson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Aerts is just riding it out for now. Lawson eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lawson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Aerts kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Lawson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Aerts walks away with a smile on his face. Lawson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lawson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Aerts displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lawson throws out the jab.

Lawson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Lawson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Aerts pushes Lawson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lawson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Lawson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aerts, who protects the arm well.
Aerts can't do much from the bottom here.

Jerry Lawson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Lawson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Aerts moves into the clinch.
Aerts looking to throw knees to the head but Lawson is blocking nicely.
Lawson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Lawson gets control of Aerts's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lawson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Aerts got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lawson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aerts has managed to get both his arms back between Lawson's legs - danger averted.

Lawson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Aerts can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Aerts wants to get up but he can't break Lawson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Aerts trying to control the position from guard on top but Lawson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lawson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lawson working for a triangle but Aerts defends it easily.
Aerts tries to stand but Lawson is controlling from the bottom.

Lawson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Aerts is aware though and is defending well.

Lawson has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Aerts doesn't defend quickly enough and Lawson has managed to lock this one up! Can Aerts escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Lawson on a fantastic submission victory.
