Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Joey Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Gannon!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gannon circles away.
Gannon takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gannon looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Gannon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gannon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones with a poor takedown
and Gannon counters with a left to the body.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gannon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gannon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

Gannon thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.

Gannon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch.
Come on Jones - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jones is working for takedown but Gannon is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jones gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gannon.
Jones is pressed up against the cage. Gannon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Joey Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Gannon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Gannon counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.

Gannon stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Jones throws a right and a left that Gannon avoids nicely.
Gannon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gannon off to one side.

and Gannon counters with a nice uppercut.
Jones throws a front kick that sends Gannon stumbling back into the cage.
Jones throws a hook but Gannon avoids it easily.

Jones tries to get to full guard but Gannon has control of the leg.

Gannon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Gannon content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gannon cracks Jones with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gannon working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head.

Jones wants to get back to his feet but Gannon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gannon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Gannon eventually gives up the hold.

Gannon looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Jones is trying to stand up here but Gannon is controlling him well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gannon wants to work for an arm triangle but Jones is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

and Gannon counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.
Jones controls Gannon momentarily but Gannon frees himself.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Paul Gannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Gannon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!
Gannon is not content to let Jones control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gannon to his feet.

Jones takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Gannon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jones has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gannon is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gannon is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows.
