Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cruz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Martinez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cruz as he jumps to the side.
Martinez dives in and grabs Cruz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes down on Martinez's head and hops out.
Cruz stuffs the takedown.

Martinez shoots in looking for a takedown. Cruz tries to sprawl out of it but Martinez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cruz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Martinez stays in close to Cruz's body and controls the position.
Cruz controls Martinez momentarily but Martinez frees himself.

Cruz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martinez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Martinez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cruz moves away.
Martinez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Martinez tries to clinch but Cruz is having none of it.
Martinez fails with a takedown attempt.
Martinez throws a hook but Cruz blocks it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cruz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mario Martinez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Martinez lands a big head kick that sends Cruz tumbling to the mat! Martinez takes a step backwards and waves Cruz back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Cruz is rocked!
It looks like Bruno Cruz has been cut.
Cruz slaps away a takedown attempt from Martinez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Martinez tries to clinch up.
Martinez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Cruz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Martinez can pounce on him.
Martinez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice takedown defense from Cruz. No joy for Martinez on that attempt.

Martinez shoots in for a double leg but Cruz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Martinez moves in looking to clinch but Cruz pushes him off.
Horrible takedown by Martinez or perhaps it was just good defense by Cruz which made him look bad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Martinez lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Martinez stops a takedown attempt from Cruz.
Martinez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cruz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Martinez lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Martinez gets through Cruz's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Martinez lands an elbow inside.
Cruz has Martinez pressed against the cage, preventing Martinez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Martinez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Martinez shoots and misses
and Cruz counters with a takedown into side control.
Martinez is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martinez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cruz's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Martinez is trying to control but can't.
Martinez actively working from the bottom here.

Martinez gets full guard.
Martinez wants to sweep but no luck.
Cruz is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Martinez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Cruz is looking to defend but Martinez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Cruz! Martinez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Cruz taps out and this one is all over!
