The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rossi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Manson.
Michael Rossi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Rossi counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Manson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rossi closes the distance and clinches up with Manson, looking for a takedown. Rossi pushes Manson against the cage but Manson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Manson shoots in but no luck this time.

Rossi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Manson's guard.

Rossi winds up and cracks Manson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rossi throws a strike but Manson avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Manson wants to stand up but Rossi is controlling him.
Rossi looking to sit in guard and control but Manson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rossi is pulling down on Manson's head. It's preventing any offense from Manson, at least for the moment.
