PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brutus Barbarian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glot Drulog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Barbarian might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Iron Man. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barbarian darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Barbarian looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Drulog wants to control but Barbarian is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Drulog is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Barbarian pulls his head out easily.
Barbarian seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Drulog has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Barbarian is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Barbarian decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Drulog, up you get!

Barbarian fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Drulog sprawls well initially but Barbarian persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Drulog can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barbarian controls the pace.

Drulog working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barbarian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barbarian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Barbarian slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Drulog is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Barbarian is sitting in close to Drulog's body. Drulog has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Barbarian is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Barbarian is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Drulog.
