Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Benoit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Fajita !
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit keeps the fight on the outside.
Fajita displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Benoit.
Fajita is looking to clinch.
Fajita is looking to clinch but Benoit is avoiding it.
Fajita throws a sloppy head kick and Benoit moves out of range easily.
Fajita gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Benoit counters with a takedown into side control.
Benoit could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Benoit trying to control the position but Fajita is working away.
Fajita gets back to half guard.
Benoit decides to stand up.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Benoit.

Fajita is pushing Benoit's head away, looking to escape. Benoit manages to hold on to the position though.
Benoit stands up and beckons Fajita to his feet.
Fajita throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fajita has closed the distance and engaged Benoit in a clinch.
Benoit is working for takedown but Fajita is calmly controlling the position for now.
Fajita 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fajita circles away from the clinch attempt.
Benoit looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fajita !
Fajita tries to buck Benoit off but he can't manage it.
Benoit mounts Fajita ! Really nice guard pass there!
Fajita 's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Benoit is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fajita can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fajita is squirming around, avoiding Benoit's attempts to control the action.
You get the feeling that Fajita really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Fajita tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fajita is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Benoit connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Benoit prevents Fajita from getting the reversal.
Fajita really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benoit. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Benoit looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fajita is looking to improve his position but Benoit isn't that keen on the idea.

Benoit can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fajita is looking to escape.
Benoit lands a heavy elbow.
Fajita is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Benoit is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fajita can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fajita throwing hammer fists to the chest of Benoit. What's that going to do exactly?

Benoit wants to control the pace but Fajita is squirming around nicely.

Benoit looking to control but Fajita is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Fajita is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Benoit working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Fajita looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Benoit! Submission of the night perhaps?
