Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Earp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Earp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Earp decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Doe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Earp is looking to advance position but Doe won't allow it.
Earp seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Earp not landing any meaningful shots this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Doe can do anything to dispel that myth.
Earp looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Earp is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Earp frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Earp cracks Doe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Doe is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Earp postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Doe looks a forlorn figure.
Earp fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Earp unloads with some shots from mount but Doe bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doe holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Earp tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Doe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Earp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Doe wants to control but Earp is having none of it.

Earp throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

It looks like John Doe has been cut.
Earp throwing strikes here but Doe is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Earp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Earp is in the full mount, landing strikes.
