Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Galf Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gidian Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone has chosen Overcome by All that Remains as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Galf Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gidian Stone!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nelson doesn't manage to clinch there - Stone circles away.
Stone misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nelson stalks Stone and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Stone's face. Stone staggers backwards, shaken.

Nelson closes the distance and pushes Stone back into the cage.
Stone working hard to break the clinch.
Stone wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Stone is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Nelson is trying to maintain a safe position but Stone gets an underhook and turns Nelson into the cage.

Nelson has clasped his hands together around Stone's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nelson is looking to take a break and control but Stone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nelson throws a strike aimed at the side of Stone's head but Stone avoids it well.
Nelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.

Stone wants to control but Nelson postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

It looks like Galf Nelson has been cut.
Nelson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Stone is out of range.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stone as he avoids it easily.

Some wild striking there from Nelson.
Nelson blocks a jab.
Stone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nelson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gidian Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nelson.
Stone dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nelson. That did some damage!

Nelson looks to land a strike but Stone avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stone is on top in guard.

Stone wants to get up but he can't break Nelson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stone wants to stand but Nelson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Nelson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stone throws a lazy right hand but Nelson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gidian Stone seems to be getting the better of the standup.

The fighters circling - Stone throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Stone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Nelson wants to clinch.

Stone wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stone lands with an uppercut that bounces Nelson off the cage and back into rage.
Stone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nelson moves away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gidian Stone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Nelson takes a little break here. Stone wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Nelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.
The strikes coming from Nelson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Stone takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nelson looking to control but instead Stone has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Nelson wants to free his trapped foot but Stone is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Stone works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Galf Nelson.
I think Nelson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
