Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gravis Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Sharpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gravis Bader could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Michael Sharpe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gravis Bader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Sharpe!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharpe with a jab.
Bader misses with a wild body shot.

Bader gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sharpe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bader might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sharpe wants to control from the top but Bader keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bader tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fighters circling - Bader throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bader tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sharpe swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sharpe wants to clinch but Bader slips to the side
and Bader makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bader fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Sharpe looks to land a combination. Bader sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Bader thows a left - swing and a miss!
The fighters circling - Bader throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sharpe clinches but Bader breaks the clinch
and Bader counters with a stiff right hand.
Gravis Bader is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sharpe slips a jab from Bader.
Bader misses with a few strikes there.
Bader tries to clinch but Sharpe moves away
and Sharpe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bader just misses with a punch to the body.

Bader scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Bader lands a body shot.

Bader digs a right hand into Sharpe's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sharpe's gas tank.
Sharpe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bader gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bader gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Sharpe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sharpe wants to pass the guard but Bader is keeping the position.
Bader wants to stand and escape but Sharpe is having none of it.

Sharpe controls from within his opponent's guard.

Sharpe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sharpe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sharpe tries to clinch but Bader moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gravis Bader will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bader will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Bader counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bader.
Sharpe digs a right hand into Bader's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bader's gas tank.

Sharpe has had enough of the clinch but Bader keeps him there for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bader gets through Sharpe's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Bader has Sharpe pressed against the cage, preventing Sharpe from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Bader is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sharpe is keeping busy.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sharpe creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Sharpe has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bader uses from the top position.

Sharpe is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Sharpe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bader's guard.
Sharpe throws a strike but Bader rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sharpe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sharpe is trying to keep Bader in close.
Sharpe has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Bader stands and steps away. Sharpe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sharpe thows a left - swing and a miss!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Michael Sharpe will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Bader just misses with a punch to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bader, as that shot connected.
Bader tries to clinch up
enabling Sharpe to counter with a crisp jab.
Sharpe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bader's waist but Bader gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sharpe off to one side.
Bader tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sharpe swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Michael Sharpe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bader swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bader throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bader clobbers Sharpe with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Sharpe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bader swivels and escapes.

The is referee keeping an eye on Bader - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bader seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
