The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barnett is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. White Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barnett's back instead.

White is throwing strikes by Barnett counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Barnett regains half guard.

White is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barnett defends it well.
White will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
White is tying to control. Barnett wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
White uses his free foot to push down on Barnett's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Barnett.
