Elorde comes to the cage accompanied by Beep! Beep!. Anderson Sweeney has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gabriel Elorde's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Elorde.
Elorde thows a body shot but no joy.

Sweeney changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Elorde looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Elorde wants to get back to his feet but Sweeney drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sweeney remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sweeney looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Sweeney is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Elorde knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sweeney is looking to take a break and control but Elorde is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Sweeney is trying to move to mount but Elorde reverses beautifully and ends up in Sweeney's guard.

Elorde would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Elorde wants to get up but he can't break Sweeney's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Sweeney is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Elorde might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Elorde has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sweeney is proving hard to escape from.

Elorde is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sweeney is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Elorde misses with an uppercut. Sweeney saw that one coming.
Sweeney takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Sweeney looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
No joy there for Elorde, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Elorde tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sweeney was well out of range. Poor timing from Elorde.

Sweeney wants to control the pace but Elorde is squirming around nicely.

Sweeney gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sweeney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Elorde scores with a jab to the head.

Sweeney is rocked!
Elorde cracks Sweeney with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Sweeney is still on wobbly legs! Can Elorde finish him?
Elorde lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Elorde.
Elorde scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sweeney doesn't seem bothered though.

Elorde circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Sweeney to the canvas! Sweeney doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Elorde keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
