The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lilja is looking to clinch but Wheatly is avoiding it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Wheatly just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lilja's brow.

Wheatly gets control of Lilja's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wheatly will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Wheatly has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lilja's face.
Lilja is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Wheatly is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lilja can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
