Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smees Me (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Bader is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Smees Me!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Bader!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Me misses with a two punch combination.
Me throws a head kick but Bader moves out of range.
Me on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Me buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Bader drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bader with a flurry of punches that miss.
Me is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bader is controlling him.
Bader keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Me's head.


It looks like Smees Me has been cut.
Me wants to stand up but Bader is controlling him.
Me utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bader postures up in Me's guard and throws a big left but Me blocks it.
Me preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bader loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bader accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bader's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Me wants to stand but Bader is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bader accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bader throws a big right hand that misses.
Bader with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bader postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Me is looking to stand up but Bader isn't so interested in that idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bader throws a combination that misses
and Me counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Bader walks forward, straight into a front kick from Me.
Bader closes the distance and clinches up with Me, looking for a takedown. Bader pushes Me against the cage but Me circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bader looks gassed!
Horrible takedown by Me or perhaps it was just good defense by Bader which made him look bad.

Bader looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Me wants to get back to his feet.
Bader thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Me's head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Me has hold of Bader's hands but Bader slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Me wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bader not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bader missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Me has one foot on Bader's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Me goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Me.
Me throws a nice outside leg kick.
Me misses with a jab, cross combination.
Me lands a front kick.
Bader will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Me moves in looking to clinch but Bader pushes him off.
A nice inside leg kick there by Me. That's going to slow Bader down.
Bader takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Me misses with a wild combination.

Bader looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bader throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Me is trying to stand.

Me kicks Bader off and gets back to his feet.
Me looks to land a body kick but Bader moved away.
Me scores with a nice body kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Bader blocks the leg kick.
Bader misses with a two punch combination.
Me throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A punch combination from Me misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bader misses with a combination
and Me counters with a series of strikes. Bader will be more careful next time no doubt.
Ryan Bader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Me throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bader.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ryan Bader will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Smees Me's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Me throws a push kick but Bader slaps the foot to one side.
Me turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Smees Me is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Me throws a right hand that Bader ducks under and follows up with a left that Bader also avoids with ease.
Me scoring well with a low kick there.
Bader on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Me. Me obviously looking to wear him down.
Bader moves out of range of the body kick.
Bader stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bader wants it to stay on the feet.
Me pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Bader looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Me!
Bader postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Me looks a forlorn figure.
Me is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bader thowing shots but they're missing.

Me avoids a strike by Bader and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Bader's guard! Fantastic escape!
Bader has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Me has passed into side control.
Bader is trying to work for a sweep but Me has mounted him!
Me tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Me blocks Bader's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Me controlling his opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Me can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bader is looking to escape.
Me looking to control and managing it successfully.
Bader tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Bader squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Me content just to control the position here.
Me's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Me wants to control the pace but Bader is squirming around nicely.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Smees Me just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Me swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Me shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bader as he avoids it easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Me, as that shot connected.
Me explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Me throws a right hand that Bader ducks under and follows up with a left that Bader also avoids with ease.
Me throws a front kick that sends Bader stumbling back into the cage.
Me thows a body kick. Bader tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Me throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bader's head.
Me lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Me.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bader!

Bader closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bader slips a nice elbow through Me's hands, connecting with Me's forehead.
Me regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bader.
Me wants to stand but Bader is controlling the position.
Bader throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smees Me dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Smees Me's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Me throws a one two combo.
Danga de danga de dang - Bader scores with a four punch combination!
Me lands a jab-cross combination.

Bader looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Me avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Me pushes Bader off and scrambles back to his feet.
Bader walks into a jab.
Me shoots for a double leg takedown but Bader sprawls well. He's pushed Me's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Me throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Me slaps away a takedown attempt from Bader, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Me throws a quick inside leg kick.
Me throws a head kick but Bader moves out of range.
No joy there for Me, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bader lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Bader dodges the punch combination from Me.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bader looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bader lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Bader prevents Me from standing back up.
Me keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bader thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Me's head.

Me manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Bader gets the takedown into side control.
Me is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bader is controlling him well.
Ryan Bader has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bader moves out of range of the body kick.
Me throws a body kick that misses.

Bader shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bader throws a strike but Me rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bader trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Bader is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bader keeping moving, preventing Me from controlling successfully.

Me has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bader is proving hard to escape from.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bader can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bader striking off his back but it's not causing Me any problems.

Me stands up from Bader's guard - Me perhaps looking for a knockout.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Me.
Bader fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Me avoids it really well and circles away.
Me with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Me swinging wilding here.
Me misses with a few strikes there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bader dodges the punch combination from Me.

Bader shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Me is trying to defend but Bader finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bader slips a nice elbow through Me's hands, connecting with Me's forehead.
Me regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bader.
Me is looking to stand up but Bader isn't so interested in that idea.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Smees Me.
I think Me has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
