The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Groot swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bartowski.

De Groot has Bartowski pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. De Groot pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bartowski tumbling to the mat - De Groot dives into Bartowski's guard.
Bartowski wants to sweep here but De Groot controlling him for the moment.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

De Groot stuns Bartowski with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

De Groot lands a left and a right that send Bartowski crashing to the mat, dazed. De Groot thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Bartowski is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bartowski walks straight into a right hand from De Groot - that's dropped him! De Groot jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bartowski from any more punishment! Bartowski complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
