Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, San Cou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergio Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cou tries to clinch there but Sanchez circles away.

Sanchez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sanchez showed some decent athleticism there.
Cou is trying to stand up here but Sanchez is controlling him well.
Sanchez controlling the action here.

Sanchez stands up out of the half guard.
Sanchez takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cou tries to clinch but Sanchez is having none of it.

Cou clinches up with Sanchez and pushes him back against the cage.
Cou tries to circle away but Sanchez has him pinned against the cage.
Sanchez is pressed up against the cage. Cou has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sanchez down to the mat. Sanchez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cou lands with a nice combination. Sanchez backs away looking to recover.

Sanchez ducks under a wild hook from Cou.
Cou throws a jab when Sanchez was well out of range.
Cou doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.
Cou looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cou fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sanchez tries to clinch up but Cou circles away and keeps his distance.
Sanchez lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Cou throws a hook to the side of Sanchez's head but Sanchez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Sanchez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cou is pressed up against the cage. Sanchez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cou down to the mat. Cou avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cou scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Cou tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sanchez has closed the distance and engaged Cou in a clinch.
Cou wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cou wants to break free but Sanchez has control.

Cou breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sanchez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cou looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cou scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Sanchez slips under a jab from Cou.
Cou tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sanchez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cou.
Cou tries to clinch up but Sanchez circles away and keeps his distance.

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sanchez seems to be working for a kimura but Cou defends the submission attempt.
Sanchez looks gassed!
Sanchez is looking to take a break and control but Cou is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cou is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cou wants to get back to his feet.

Sanchez escapes and gets back to his feet.

Cou tries to clinch up but Sanchez circles away and keeps his distance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sanchez moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cou throws a combination that misses

and Sanchez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sanchez.
Cou keeping full guard, as Sanchez tries to pass.
Sanchez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sanchez is stalling in the full guard.

Cou wants to clinch
and Sanchez counters with a one-two to the body.
Sanchez dives in and grabs Cou's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cou pushes down on Sanchez's head and hops out.
Some wild striking there from Cou.
Cou cracks Sanchez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cou connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sanchez.
Cou is trying to get back to his feet.

Sanchez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cou knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cou keeps working.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cou is pushing Sanchez's head away, looking to escape. Sanchez manages to hold on to the position though.

Sanchez decides to stand back up.

Cou darts in and clinches Sanchez up against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cou gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sanchez.
Sanchez is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Cou is trying to break the clinch but Sanchez is controlling him.

Sanchez has Cou pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sanchez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cou tumbling to the mat - Sanchez dives into Cou's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Cou swats away the attempt to clinch by Sanchez.

Sergio Sanchez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

San Cou is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cou throws a series of punches but Sanchez avoids them all with ease.
Nice defenses there by Sanchez.

and Sanchez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cou won't be happy with that.

Sanchez wants to control but Cou is keeping him busy.
Sanchez looking to control but instead Cou has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cou is trying to stand.

Cou pushes Sanchez off and gets back to his feet.
San Cou is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sanchez slips a straight right by Cou.
Sanchez fails with the takedown.

Sanchez feints and as Cou raises his hands in defense, Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sanchez wants to pass the guard but Cou is keeping the position.

Cou tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sanchez rushes Cou and presses him up against the cage.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Cou won't allow it.

Cou escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cou pinned against the cage. Cou gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sanchez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cou throws a hook but Sanchez avoids it easily.
Cou slips a jab and a cross from Sanchez.
San Cou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cou misses with a combination

and Sanchez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sanchez.
Sanchez wants to pass the guard but Cou is keeping the position.

Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but Cou is retaining full guard.

I've got Sanchez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
