Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris McDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Willian Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McDonald gets in close and instigates a clinch.

McDonald breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Willian Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonald displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wallace.
McDonald is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wallace.
Nice takedown defense from McDonald. No joy for Wallace on that attempt.

McDonald moves into range and clinches up with Wallace.
Wallace is looking to break free of the clinch but McDonald has double underhooks.
McDonald softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

McDonald breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown but McDonald shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Chris McDonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willian Wallace.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wallace is defended easily by McDonald.
Wallace fails with the takedown.

Wallace tries to keep at a distance but McDonald has taken the fight into the clinch.

McDonald breaks the clinch.
Wallace tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McDonald swivels and escapes.

McDonald moves into range and clinches up with Wallace.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McDonald pulls guard successfully.
McDonald looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wallace is one step ahead there.

Wallace is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McDonald is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McDonald has escaped and now he's on top!
McDonald postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing McDonald from controlling successfully.
McDonald tries to stand but Wallace is controlling from the bottom.
McDonald pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wallace is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McDonald controlling from the top position.

Wallace throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
McDonald wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.

Wallace looking for subs off his back but McDonald has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wallace looking for submissions off his back.
Wallace looks gassed!
Wallace is trying to get back to full guard.
McDonald wants to free his trapped foot but Wallace is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Wallace looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Wallace looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Wallace is in trouble now - McDonald has advanced to mount!
McDonald looking to control but Wallace is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Wallace is desperately trying to improve his position but McDonald has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wallace is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris McDonald dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



McDonald scores with a takedown into Wallace's guard.
McDonald trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McDonald really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wallace is looking for a triangle but McDonald pushes his legs off easily.

Wallace is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McDonald defends well.
Wallace is trying to control the position but McDonald postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wallace has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. McDonald doesn't defend quickly enough and Wallace has managed to lock this one up! Can McDonald escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Wallace on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Willian Wallace!
