Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy NoMates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pepper Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy NoMates has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar shoots in looking for a takedown. NoMates tries to sprawl out of it but Edgar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. NoMates manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Edgar shoots in but no luck this time.
Edgar shoots in for a takedown but NoMates shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Edgar has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. NoMates is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Edgar.
NoMates remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

NoMates feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
