The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wazesky shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wazesky was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Silva tries to hold on but Wazesky postures up.

Wazesky swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silva is now in Wazesky's guard. A big mistake from Wazesky there, giving up the dominant position!

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silva stands and steps away. Wazesky gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Silva throws a half hearted mid kick.
Wazesky tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wazesky fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Wazesky is able to avoid easily.
Wazesky throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Wazesky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Silva tries to land a front kick but Wazesky steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Silva misses with a double jab.
Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Wazesky, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gregory Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon Wazesky.

Wazesky is looking to improve his position but Silva isn't that keen on the idea.

Silva is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wazesky is surviving well by controlling Silva's body position as best he can.
Wazesky tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Silva lands a big shot there that rocks Wazesky but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
