The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
York shoots in for a double leg but Woods sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Woods shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
York tries to strike from the bottom.
York wants to stand up but Woods is controlling him.
York striking off his back but it's not causing Woods any problems.
Woods sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Woods passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Woods moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from York.
Woods is looking to take a break and control but York is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

York is trying to improve his position.
York striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Woods trying to control the action but York is working from the bottom.
Woods landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
York throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
York moves out of range of the body kick.

and Woods counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Woods.
York keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Woods's efforts to push away.
York lands a hook to the side of the head.

York breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Woods tries to clinch there but York circles away.
York stuffs the takedown attempt from Woods. Woods gets slowly back to his feet.
York misses with a takedown

and Woods counters with a single leg into guard. York didn't expect that.
Jimmy Woods has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jt York.
York looks gassed!

Woods stands up and waves to York to follow him.

and Woods counters with a three punch combo that has York backing up. York nods at Woods to acknowledge the strikes.

York feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Woods is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Woods creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Woods has hold of York's arm. He's looking for a kimura. York seems comfortable defending it but Woods has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! York is real pain and he's forced to tap out! York is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Woods couldn't care less - he's delighted!
