Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Umi Diablo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PJ Benn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umi Diablo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diablo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Benn decides to stand up, so the ref orders Diablo to his feet.

Diablo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Diablo showed some decent athleticism there.
Diablo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Diablo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Benn keeps working.
Benn is trying to maintain the position but Diablo is very close to passing his half guard.
Benn is trying to get back to full guard.
Benn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Diablo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Benn on the ground.

Diablo is working for a kimura but Benn is defending it quite comfortably.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Benn moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Diablo tries to clinch up but Benn circles away and keeps his distance.
Diablo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Benn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Benn tries to keep at a distance but Diablo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Diablo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Benn frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Diablo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Diablo regains half guard.
Benn is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Benn drops an elbow to the side of Diablo's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benn works his way into full mount!
Diablo is trying to escape the mount.

Benn is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Benn extends the arm and Diablo is forced to tap!
