PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Farmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gunn has chosen England belongs to me as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farmer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Farmer scores with a head kick.
Gunn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Farmer.
Gunn swats away the attempt to clinch by Farmer.
Farmer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gunn sprawls well. Gunn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Farmer gets slowly back to his feet.

Gunn clobbers Farmer with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Gunn blocks a head kick by Farmer.
Farmer shoots in but Gunn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Farmer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Farmer doesn't manage to clinch there - Gunn circles away.

Farmer gets caught flat footed, as Gunn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Farmer can't keep his opponent in guard - Gunn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gunn in particular looking to stall.
Gunn is looking to pass Farmer's guard but actually Farmer recovers to full guard.
Gunn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gunn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Farmer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gunn has managed to get both his arms back between Farmer's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
