Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ken Watts!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watts throws a series of punches but Bass moves out of range.
Bass avoids a punch combination nicely.
Watts steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bass.
Bass swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Watts misses the shot to the body.
Watts lands with a nice combination. Bass backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Teddy Bass has been cut.
Watts shoots in but no luck this time.

Bass tries to clinch there but Watts circles away.
Bass avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ken Watts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Watts throws a nice looking combination but Bass bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Watts shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bass pinned against the cage. Bass gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Watts rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bass moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bass fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Watts manages to avoid it.
Bass misses with a straight left.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Watts throws a shot from downtown. Bass moves away and avoids it.

Watts defending well as Bass loads up on a big left hand.

Bass is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Bass trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Bass is squirming around, avoiding Watts's attempts to control the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Watts is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bass has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Watts jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bass manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bass throws a body punch but Watts moves out of range.

Watts closes the distance and clinches up with Bass, looking for a takedown. Watts pushes Bass against the cage but Bass circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Watts is breathing heavily.

Watts will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Bass counters with a one-two to the body.
Teddy Bass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Watts.
Watts tests Bass's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bass dodges the punch combination from Watts.

Watts will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bass scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Bass bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Bass tries to clinch up but Watts circles away and keeps his distance.
Bass scores with a hook to the body. Watts takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Bass avoids a punch combination nicely.
Watts misses with a series of wild punches.
Watts ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Watts throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bass cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Watts feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bass wants to get back to his feet but Watts is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bass has his foot on Watts's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Watts works his way back into a safe position though.

Bass wants to stand but Watts is controlling the position.
Watts wants to pass the guard but Bass is keeping the position.

Watts has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bass to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Watts is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bass pulls down on the head and he's put Watts to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Teddy Bass!
