PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jan Szczevnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kukka Multa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Multa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pain - Monkey Business kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jan Szczevnikov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Szczevnikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kukka Multa!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Multa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Szczevnikov.
Multa slaps away a takedown attempt from Szczevnikov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Szczevnikov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Multa defends it nicely.

Szczevnikov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Multa did well to prevent Szczevnikov getting side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Let's hope that Multa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Multa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Szczevnikov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Multa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Szczevnikov sprawls well initially but Multa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Szczevnikov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Multa walks away with a smile on his face. Szczevnikov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Multa postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Szczevnikov looks a forlorn figure.

Well Multa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
