Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Donnie O Brien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brewster B (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Brien comes into the arena with Rocky Road to Dublin blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Donnie O Brien !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Brewster B!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
B looks to land a combination. O Brien sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
B swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
O Brien avoids a punch combination nicely.
O Brien shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has B pinned against the cage. B gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
B uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by O Brien .
B lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
B scores with a sloppy right hand. O Brien should have avoided that one.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from B lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and O Brien has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from O Brien and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

O Brien closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
B avoids any damage from the ground and pound of O Brien .
O Brien with the ground and pound but B regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
B is looking to control O Brien 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can B avoid being mounted?
O Brien has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

O Brien content to control rather than advance.
O Brien throwing shots but B is blocking nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
B is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
B is looking to control O Brien 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can B avoid being mounted?
O Brien is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
O Brien throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
O Brien fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
B paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
O Brien tries to clinch but B is having none of it.
Decent striking displayed by B there.
B jabs at O Brien 's body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from B lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. O Brien uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before B has time to react.

B lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
B scores with a leg kick.

O Brien shoots in and bounces B off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
O Brien loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

B controls O Brien momentarily but O Brien frees himself.
B pulls O Brien in close to prevent any damage.
O Brien throwing strikes but missing.
O Brien wants to pass the guard but B is keeping the position.
O Brien preventing the sweep.
B controls O Brien momentarily but O Brien frees himself.
O Brien tries to free his leg and advance position but B is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
O Brien misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie O Brien . That's going to take a lot out of him.
O Brien shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with B but B pushes him off and we're back to square one.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
B misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from O Brien .

B scores with a one two! O Brien had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

O Brien shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. B is trying to defend but O Brien finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
B wants to improve his position but O Brien is controlling well.
B is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if B can do anything to dispel that myth.
B gets back to full guard.
B utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Donnie O Brien will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A good leg kick by B.
B closes the distance and lands a one-two.
B has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from O Brien finds it's way round the side to connect with B's head.
B swings away with a leg kick that misses.
O Brien shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts B as he jumps to the side.
B walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. O Brien checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
O Brien shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says B as he avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from O Brien .
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie O Brien . That's going to take a lot out of him.
O Brien swings and misses with a hook to the body.

O Brien closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming B to the mat! B manages to get full guard.
B bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in O Brien 's guard.
B wants to control from the top but O Brien keeps moving.
B must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

O Brien is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
O Brien drops an elbow to the side of B's head.
O Brien throwing shots but B is blocking nicely.
O Brien tries to pass to full mount but B defends it.
B is trying to stand up here but O Brien is controlling him well.
B tries to roll over but O Brien keeps him under control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
B lands a nice looking body shot.

Brewster B is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
O Brien keeps the fight on the outside.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as O Brien checks a leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from B as O Brien shoots in.
B scores with a decent looking hook.
B looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
B dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on O Brien . That did some damage!
Donnie O Brien is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
O Brien throws a looping overhand right but B ducks down to avoid it.
B catches O Brien with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
O Brien is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by B.
B throws a body punch but O Brien moves out of range.

B rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but O Brien moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
B lands a jab to the head.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as O Brien checks a leg kick.
B wants to land a leg kick but O Brien is out of range.
B fails to land with a series of punches.
O Brien shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with B but B pushes him off and we're back to square one.
B buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
O Brien closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
An inside leg kick from B misses.
O Brien checks the leg kick nicely there.
B wants to clinch.
B fails to land with a series of punches.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
B lands a nice hook to O Brien 's body. O Brien takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
O Brien will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
B walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Brewster B seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Brien tries to bum rush B with a series of wild strikes but B uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
O Brien takes a shot right to the bread basket.
O Brien takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
B fakes a jab and throws a low kick but O Brien checks it well.
B bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps O Brien 's head backwards.
O Brien is trying hard to land a takedown here. B sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

B throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
O Brien takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brewster B showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


O Brien is trying hard to land a takedown here. B sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

O Brien lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
O Brien has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by B.
B fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches O Brien on the side of the head.

O Brien throws a hook but B avoids it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
