Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck McBuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russo comes to the ring accompanied by Destroy Everything. Chuck McBuck has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Russo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck McBuck!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russo slips a jab from McBuck.

Russo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Russo scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Chuck McBuck has been cut.

and McBuck takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Russo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McBuck manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Russo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Russo wants to pass the guard but McBuck is keeping the position.
McBuck not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Russo trying to control but McBuck is working from the bottom.

Russo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McBuck manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Russo has McBuck in his guard.

McBuck has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Russo is proving hard to escape from.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Russo throws an elbow but McBuck slips to the side and avoids it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

McBuck throws out a loose jab but Russo uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Russo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Russo looks to land a right hand but McBuck moved out of range.
Russo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McBuck.

and Russo counters with a shoot takedown. McBuck fights it but they end up in guard.

Russo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McBuck defends it easily.

Russo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McBuck is aware though and is defending well.

Russo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Russo wants to take a breather but McBuck is having none of it.

Russo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Russo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McBuck swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Russo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Russo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! McBuck has picked Russo up and slammed him! Russo can't keep hold of the triangle and McBuck manages to pass to side control!

McBuck is keen to just control but Russo is a slippery customer.
Russo is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Russo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Well Russo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
