The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paining shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Torquato trying to hold on to Paining's head to control him but Paining postures up.

Paining is pulling down on Torquato's head. It's preventing any offense from Torquato, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Torquato displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Paining.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Torquato shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Paining decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Torquato's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Paining dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Torquato tries to close the distance and clinch but Paining swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Paining throws a strike but Torquato rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Paining pulls Torquato in close to prevent any damage.
Paining on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Paining tries to get out of the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Paining wants to sweep but no luck.

Torquato wants to control from the top but Paining keeps moving.
Paining really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Paining counters with a shoot takedown. Torquato fights it but they end up in guard.

Paining got a little sloppy there for a moment and Torquato has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Paining has managed to get both his arms back between Torquato's legs - danger averted.
Paining postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Torquato is looking for a triangle but Paining pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Paining fails with the takedown
and Torquato counters with a nice low kick that buckles Paining's knee momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Paining dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Paining gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mac Paining overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Torquato tries to free his leg and advance position but Paining is retaining full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Paining is trying to keep Torquato in close.
Paining is trying to hold Torquato in close to prevent damage but Torquato has managed to pass into half guard.
Torquato wants to pass to mount but Paining is defending the position.

and Paining counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Torquato looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paining is one step ahead there.
Paining looking to sit in guard and control but Torquato gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Torquato is pushing down on Paining's leg trying to pass to half guard. Paining is fighting to maintain full guard but Torquato has managed to sneak the leg through.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mac Paining.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Paining, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
