Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonah Akahi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Akahi's choice of entrance music: Thuggish Ruggish Bone. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akahi closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Akahi pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Akahi doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones thows a body shot but no joy.
Akahi is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Akahi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones misses with a body shot.
Akahi tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown by Akahi or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akahi moves away.
Akahi should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fight stays on the outside here - Akahi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jonah Akahi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Akahi is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Akahi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jones moves into the clinch.

I think Akahi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
