Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Tennant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Liam Richardson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tennant closes this distance looking for a takedown but Richardson circles away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Tennant counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Richardson!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richardson tries to reverse the position but Tennant maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Richardson is squirming around, avoiding Tennant's attempts to control the action.

Tennant looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Richardson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Richardson looking for submissions off his back.
Tennant is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Tennant is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Tennant not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Tennant is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Richardson sees it coming and defends easily.
Richardson is looking to improve his position.
Tennant is nestled in close to Richardson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Richardson tries to roll over but Tennant keeps him under control.
Tennant seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Richardson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tennant tries to pass to full mount but Richardson defends it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tennant tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Richardson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tennant seems to be working for a kimura but Richardson defends the submission attempt.
Richardson is looking to get back to full guard here but Tennant has managed to pass to side control instead.

Richardson is desperately trying to improve his position but Tennant has a good base and remains in mount.

Tennant is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Richardson is surviving well by controlling Tennant's body position as best he can.

Richardson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Tennant thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Tennant with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Tennant seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Richardson is holding on tight.
Tennant has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Richardson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tennant looking to control but Richardson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Richardson tries to improve his position but Tennant has taken his back! Tennant has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Richardson tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Tennant pushes Richardson away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
