Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darren Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Amoroso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gold comes to the cage accompanied by M83-Lower Your Eyelids To Die With The Sun. Amoroso is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Renegades of Funk - Rage Against The Machine. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gold wants it to stay on the feet.
Gold dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Amoroso throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gold was covering up waiting for the punch and Amoroso finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gold drops back, looking for a kneebar! Amoroso looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Amoroso looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Amoroso!

Amoroso swings around for an armbar but Gold sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Amoroso's guard.

Gold thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gold seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amoroso not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Gold turns into Amoroso and is now in his guard.

Amoroso has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gold can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gold tries to pass the half guard into mount. Amoroso knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Gold wants to take a breather but Amoroso is having none of it.

Gold stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Amoroso swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gold avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gold is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Amoroso had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gold is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Amoroso Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gold's back instead.
Gold manages to reverse the position and now he's in Amoroso's guard. Nice work there by Gold.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
