Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marius Zaromskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Hunter has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marius Zaromskis!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Hunter darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hunter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zaromskis tries to avoid it but Hunter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zaromskis to the ground. Zaromskis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hunter throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Zaromskis tumbling to the canvas!


Zaromskis is rocked!

Hunter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hunter drops back looking for a leg! Zaromskis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zaromskis manages to kick Hunter off! Hunter jumps back into Zaromskis's guard.
Zaromskis wants to stand and escape but Hunter is having none of it.

Hunter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hunter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zaromskis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hunter lands a couple of digs.
Zaromskis wants to stand up but Hunter is controlling him.

Hunter working some strikes from top position.

Hunter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hunter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Zaromskis manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Hunter showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Zaromskis.

Zaromskis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hunter was covering up waiting for the punch and Zaromskis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hunter isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zaromskis stacks Hunter on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zaromskis!

Hunter is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hunter struggling a bit here.
Zaromskis wants to stand but Hunter is controlling his arm.
Zaromskis looks gassed!
Hunter is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zaromskis off and has taken his back!

Hunter is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Zaromskis has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Hunter looking for the choke but no joy.

Hunter scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

Hunter looking for the RNC.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zaromskis looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Hunter is controlling the position but Zaromskis somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Hunter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hunter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Zaromskis sees it coming and defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hunter stops Zaromskis from getting back to his feet.
Hunter wants to free his trapped foot but Zaromskis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hunter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zaromskis defends it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zaromskis is trying to stand back up but Hunter is controlling him

Hunter is looking for a kimura but Zaromskis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hunter to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Hunter dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Hunter tries to keep at a distance but Zaromskis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Zaromskis prevents a takedown attempt there.

Zaromskis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hunter works the jab nicely.
Zaromskis misses with a wild combination.
Marius Zaromskis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Zaromskis clinches with his opponent.
Hunter letting Zaromskis take a breather here.
Hunter is looking to break free of the clinch but Zaromskis has double underhooks.

Zaromskis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hunter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zaromskis tries to avoid it but Hunter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zaromskis to the ground. Zaromskis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zaromskis feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hunter's calf.
Zaromskis avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Zaromskis wants to clinch.
Zaromskis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shane Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunter misses with a straight left.

Zaromskis rushes Hunter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Zaromskis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zaromskis tries to close the distance and clinch but Hunter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zaromskis is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Hunter or perhaps it was just good defense by Zaromskis which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zaromskis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hunter throws a jab but it's blocked by Zaromskis.
Hunter swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Zaromskis.
Hunter blocks a head kick by Zaromskis.
Hunter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zaromskis's waist but Zaromskis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hunter off to one side.
Hunter is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hunter scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Zaromskis walks into a stiff left hand from Hunter.
Hunter tries to clinch

and Zaromskis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hunter's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hunter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hunter is landing with some decent strikes but Zaromskis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Hunter with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Hunter lands with some strikes.
Hunter landing strikes from the mount.
Hunter won't let Zaromskis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Shane Hunter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hunter looking to secure an arm triangle but Zaromskis defends it well.
Zaromskis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hunter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hunter looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Hunter swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Zaromskis is now in Hunter's guard. A big mistake from Hunter there, giving up the dominant position!

Hunter has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Zaromskis is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hunter.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Zaromskis decides to stand back up. Zaromskis steps back and let's Hunter get back to his feet.
Zaromskis walks into a jab.
Zaromskis moves out of range as Hunter strikes.
Hunter throws a jab when Zaromskis was well out of range.
A left lands for Hunter.
Hunter scores with a hook to the body. Zaromskis takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Shane Hunter is winning the standup battle so far.
Zaromskis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hunter lands a jab.
Zaromskis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Zaromskis swats away the attempt to clinch by Hunter.
Zaromskis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big left from Hunter misses.
No luck for Hunter with that takedown attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Zaromskis clinches with his opponent.

Zaromskis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A punch lands to the side of Zaromskis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hunter scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Zaromskis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hunter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A swing and a miss from Hunter.
Hunter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Zaromskis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hunter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A cross from Hunter lands.
Hunter misses with a straight left.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zaromskis shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Good exchange - Hunter coming out on top.
Hunter is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Hunter darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Zaromskis is still on wobbly legs! Can Hunter finish him?
Hunter throws an overhand right that drops Zaromskis like a sack of potatoes! Hunter dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Hunter!
