Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nikola Tesla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tesla comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC's Thunderstruck. Brian Maddox has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nikola Tesla's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox dives in and grabs Tesla's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tesla pushes down on Maddox's head and hops out.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Maddox has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Maddox is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tesla sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Maddox feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maddox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tesla but Tesla pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tesla looks to throw the jab but Maddox is out of range.

Maddox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tesla but Tesla pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Maddox has gone for a leg lock! Tesla slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maddox's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maddox is on top in guard.

Maddox has gone for a leg lock! Tesla slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maddox's guard.

Maddox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tesla gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tesla got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maddox has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tesla has managed to get both his arms back between Maddox's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Maddox is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tesla is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Maddox walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Maddox is rocked!
Maddox walks straight into a right hand from Tesla - that's dropped him! Tesla jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Maddox from any more punishment! Maddox complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
