Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Venkman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thompson wants it to stay on the feet.

Venkman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thompson's waist but Thompson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Venkman off to one side.

Thompson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thompson throws a leg kick but Venkman sees it coming and moves out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Venkman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thompson pinned against the cage. Thompson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Thompson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Venkman shoots in for a takedown but Thompson shows good takedown defense.

Thompson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Thompson tries to break free but Venkman pushes him back against the cage.
Venkman has Thompson pressed against the cage, preventing Thompson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Thompson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Venkman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Venkman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thompson avoids it really well and circles away.

Venkman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Thompson kicks Venkman off and gets to his feet.
Venkman fails to land the takedown.
Venkman slips a jab and a cross from Thompson.

Venkman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Thompson pushes Venkman off looking to stand but Venkman dives back in and keeps control.

Venkman wants to control but Thompson is keeping him busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Venkman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Venkman moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Thompson has worked his arm free - good work by Thompson!
Thompson is trying to get back to his feet.

Venkman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thompson has escaped the position, nice work there.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Thompson is pushing Venkman's head away, looking to escape. Venkman manages to hold on to the position though.

Venkman advances nicely into full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson is squirming around, avoiding Venkman's attempts to control the action.

Thompson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Venkman.

Thompson really wants to buck Venkman off and get back to his feet.
Thompson is looking to improve his position but Venkman isn't that keen on the idea.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Venkman is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Thompson is surviving well by controlling Venkman's body position as best he can.

Venkman is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Thompson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

and Venkman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Thompson's guard now.

Venkman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Thompson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Venkman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thompson has managed to get both his arms back between Venkman's legs - danger averted.

Venkman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thompson defends well.

Thompson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Venkman, up you get!

Nice uppercut lands for Thompson. That snapped Venkman's head back.

Peter Venkman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
