Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vlad Alexiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Alexiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ralph Emerson!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Alexiev.

Emerson shoots in and bounces Alexiev off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Alexiev looking for a sweep. Not yet Alexiev, not yet.
Alexiev pulls Emerson in to control the position.
Emerson tries to free his leg and advance position but Alexiev is retaining full guard.

Alexiev had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Emerson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alexiev Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Emerson's back instead.
Will Alexiev go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alexiev wants to control the position but Emerson frees himself and scrambles - Alexiev manages to regain control in side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Alexiev tries to keep at a distance but Emerson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Alexiev looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A head punch on the inside from Emerson fails to land.

Emerson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Emerson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Emerson shoots for a double leg takedown but Alexiev sprawls well. He's pushed Emerson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alexiev misses with a double jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Alexiev, as that shot connected.


It looks like Ralph Emerson has been cut.

Emerson instigates a clinch.

Alexiev fails to pull guard.
Alexiev is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Alexiev prevents a takedown attempt there.
Vlad Alexiev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ralph Emerson.
Emerson tries to score a body lock takedown but Alexiev shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Emerson looks gassed!
Emerson throws a head punch that misses.
Alexiev has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Alexiev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Emerson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Emerson is working for takedown but Alexiev is calmly controlling the position for now.

Emerson wants the takedown. Alexiev is fighting it off but Emerson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Alexiev's guard against the cage.
Alexiev is adopting a defensive guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Vlad Alexiev will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Alexiev connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Alexiev closes the distance and clinches.
Alexiev is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Emerson is defending well for now.

Emerson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Alexiev wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Emerson has him pressed against the cage.

Emerson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Alexiev has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Emerson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Alexiev.
Alexiev is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Emerson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Alexiev is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Emerson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Emerson's back!

Emerson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Alexiev.
Vlad Alexiev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alexiev gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Alexiev blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Alexiev has Emerson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Emerson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Emerson breaks the clinch.
Emerson tries to close the distance and clinch but Alexiev swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Alexiev works over Emerson's head and body with a nice combination.

Alexiev drops Emerson with a beautiful combination! Emerson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Alexiev is looking for the KO!


Emerson is rocked!
Alexiev connects with a superb combination that knocks Emerson out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Alexiev before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Emerson!
