And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wanderlei Silva!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler needs to keep his hands up - Silva had a free shot at his head there.

It looks like Dirk Diggler has been cut.
Diggler fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Silva scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Diggler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diggler slips a straight right by Silva.
Diggler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva connects with a right hand. Diggler shakes it off.

Diggler closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Diggler getting side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Diggler thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Silva to regain full guard.
Diggler trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diggler postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diggler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Silva pushes Diggler off and gets back to his feet.
Silva lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Diggler tries to land a front kick but Silva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Silva throws a hook to the side of Diggler's head but Diggler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Silva listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Silva connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Diggler! He's out on his feet! Silva rushes in and drops Diggler with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
