Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Bittencourt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roald Valley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rafael Bittencourt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roald Valley!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bittencourt tries to clinch but Valley is having none of it.

Valley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bittencourt was covering up waiting for the punch and Valley finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Bittencourt wants to stand up but Valley is controlling him.

Valley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Valley trying to control but Bittencourt is working from the bottom.
Valley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Valley won't allow Bittencourt to get back to his feet.

Bittencourt wriggles free and stands up.
Bittencourt ducks under a wild hook from Valley.
Bittencourt is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Valley pushes Bittencourt up against the cage in a clinch.
Bittencourt with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Valley softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Valley wants the takedown. Bittencourt is fighting it off but Valley persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bittencourt's guard against the cage.

Bittencourt tries to keep at a distance but Valley has taken the fight into the clinch.

Valley has Bittencourt pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Valley pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bittencourt tumbling to the mat - Valley dives into Bittencourt's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Valley works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Valley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Valley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bittencourt is not content to let Valley control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bittencourt is trying to stand.

Valley is looking for a kimura but Bittencourt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Valley to get the leverage.
Valley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bittencourt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Still in half guard, Valley seems content to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Valley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Bittencourt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Valley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Valley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bittencourt had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Valley defends it easily.
Valley is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Valley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bittencourt is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bittencourt has escaped and now he's on top!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Valley has his hands on Bittencourt's head, controlling the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Valley counters with a shoot takedown. Bittencourt fights it but they end up in guard.
Valley passes Bittencourt's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bittencourt looks like he's trying to stand up.

Valley is working for a submission of some sort.
Valley is trying to control the action in half guard but Bittencourt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Valley wants to control from the top but Bittencourt keeps moving.

Valley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bittencourt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Valley has managed to get both his arms back between Bittencourt's legs - danger averted.
Valley looking to sit in guard and control but Bittencourt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Valley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bittencourt defends well.
Bittencourt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bittencourt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

You get the feeling that Bittencourt really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Valley is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Valley wants to take his opponent's back but Bittencourt doesn't allow it.
Bittencourt is squirming around, avoiding Valley's attempts to control the action.
Bittencourt wants to hold on but Valley pushes him away.
Valley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Bittencourt tries to hold on but Valley postures up.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Valley cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bittencourt is trying to stand.
Valley controlling from mount.
Bittencourt's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Bittencourt defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Valley.

Valley wants to control the pace but Bittencourt is squirming around nicely.

Bittencourt wants to try and get back to his feet.

Valley jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bittencourt manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Well Valley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
