Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rovan Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Cook looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Cook!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cook's waist but Cook gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Turner off to one side.
Cook looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Cook blocks a head kick by Turner.
Turner tries to close the distance and clinch but Cook swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Turner tries to clinch but Cook is having none of it.
Rovan Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cook wants to clinch.

Turner forces Cook back against the cage and clinches.
Turner using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cook has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cook wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turner keeps working.
Turner regains half guard there - taking advantage of Cook's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Turner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cook on the ground.
Cook is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Turner wants to stand but Cook is controlling the position.

Cook wants to control from the top but Turner keeps moving.

Turner has Cook pulled in close to control his posture.
Cook won't allow Turner to get back to his feet.

Turner wriggles free and stands up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Turner is defended easily by Cook.

Turner darts in trying to clinch
and Cook counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Josh Cook has been cut.
Turner creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Cook's defenses.

Turner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Turner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Rovan Turner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turner doesn't manage to clinch there - Cook circles away.
Cook keeps the fight on the outside.

Turner lands a big head kick that sends Cook tumbling to the mat! Turner takes a step backwards and waves Cook back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Cook is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Turner tries to clinch up but Cook circles away and keeps his distance.
Cook is still on wobbly legs! Can Turner finish him?

Cook seems to have recovered his senses.

so Cook counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Turner kicks Cook off and gets to his feet.
Turner tries to clinch but Cook moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Turner has managed to clinch.

Turner wants the takedown. Cook is fighting it off but Turner persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cook's guard against the cage.
Turner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Turner gets to his feet. Cook looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Turner is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cook can't fight it off and eventually Turner manages to take the fight to the floor. Cook looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Turner stands and steps away. Cook gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Cook fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Josh Cook's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Turner drops Cook with a big knee straight up the middle! Cook is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Turner fakes the leg kick and cracks Cook in the body.
A head kick from Turner lands but Cook takes it in his stride.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Josh Cook's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Rovan Turner!
