The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bova bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gomez's head.
Gomez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bova.
Gomez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gomez moves into range and clinches up with Bova.
Bova has had enough of the clinch but Gomez keeps him there for the moment.
Bova pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bova decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Bova lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gomez circles away quickly and effectively.

Bova rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gomez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bova throws a nice looking combination but Gomez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gomez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bova did well to prevent Gomez getting side control.
Gomez is looking to advance position but Bova won't allow it.
