Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bekah Robson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bekah Robson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas throws a leg kick but Robson checks it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Robson.

Thomas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thomas lands in his opponent's guard.
Thomas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Thomas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thomas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Robson trying to keep a closed guard but Thomas is proving a slippery customer.
Robson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thomas controls the pace.

Thomas stands up and waves to Robson to follow him.

Thomas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Thomas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thomas wants to control but Robson is keeping him busy.
Robson is trying to maintain the position but Thomas is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thomas in particular looking to stall.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Robson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Robson off to one side.
Robson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thomas swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Robson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bekah Robson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Robson wants to clinch.

Thomas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Thomas is working for a submission of some sort.
Thomas has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Robson works to full guard.

Robson pulls Thomas in close to prevent any damage.
Thomas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Thomas postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thomas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Thomas drops back looking for a leg! Robson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Robson manages to kick Thomas off! Thomas jumps back into Robson's guard.

Robson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Robson is breathing heavily.

Thomas tries to keep at a distance but Robson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Thomas dodges an elbow strike from Robson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas tries to clinch but Robson moves out of range.

Thomas clinches up against the cage.
Thomas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Robson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Robson closes the distance but Thomas moves to the side

Thomas works on Robson's body with a couple of short punches.

Thomas thows a huge punch but Robson dodges it nicely.
Thomas uses his free foot to push down on Robson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Robson.

Robson is squirming around, avoiding Thomas's attempts to control the action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thomas lands a big elbow.
Thomas sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Robson tries to hold on but Thomas pushes him away.
Thomas postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Robson looks a forlorn figure.

Robson wants to control but Thomas is having none of it.

Thomas jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Robson manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thomas creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Robson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Thomas misses with the ground and pound.

Thomas goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Robson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Thomas's guard! Nice work there by Robson!
Thomas wants to sweep but no luck.
Thomas has his hands on Robson's head, controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Thomas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Robson was covering up waiting for the punch and Thomas finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Robson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Thomas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Robson is trying to force a seperation but Thomas has the dominant position.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Thomas seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Robson wants to control but Thomas is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Thomas is keen to just control but Robson is a slippery customer.
Thomas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Thomas has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Robson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Thomas is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Robson prevents the takedown attempt.

Robson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Robson shoots and misses

and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Robson won't be happy with that.

Thomas stands up and beckons Robson to his feet.

Robson clinches.

Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Thomas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Robson, pushing him back against the cage.
Thomas is trying to break the clinch but Robson has him pressed against the cage.
Thomas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Robson walks away with a smile on his face. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Robson moves into range and clinches up with Thomas.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Robson is stalling here.

Thomas has Robson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Thomas pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Robson tumbling to the mat - Thomas dives into Robson's guard.
Bekah Robson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Paul Thomas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Paul Thomas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Thomas winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
