PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andres Bernardini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoppe Krille (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krille has chosen My Territory as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andres Bernardini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hoppe Krille!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bernardini shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bernardini was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Krille tries to reverse the position but Bernardini maintains control.
Bernardini lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Bernardini pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Bernardini takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bernardini avoids the attempt from Krille to control.
Bernardini controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bernardini is working for a guillotine from mount but Krille frees his head quite easily.
Bernardini raining down shots from the mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bernardini tries to control but Krille wriggling away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bernardini with the ground and pound from mount.
Bernardini controlling the position easily from mount.
Bernardini has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Krille is desperately trying to improve his position but Bernardini has a good base and remains in mount.

Bernardini looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Krille really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Krille is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Krille slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Krille keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Krille trying to hold on to Bernardini's head to control him but Bernardini postures up.
Bernardini looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Krille with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Krille scores with a few weak punches.

Bernardini looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bernardini is breathing heavily.
Krille tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
It looks like Bernardini is going to stand back up.
Krille keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Krille misses with a takedown

and Bernardini counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Krille wants to stand but Bernardini is controlling the position.

Krille throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Bernardini trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bernardini stays in close to Krille's body and controls the position.
Krille controls Bernardini momentarily but Bernardini frees himself.
Krille tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bernardini trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Krille looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bernardini works over Krille with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bernardini is working Krille over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Krille has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Bernardini should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Krille has tightened it up now! Bernardini should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Hoppe Krille!
