Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Hoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Son had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Paul Hoon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Hoon!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoon throws a jab when Son was well out of range.
Son dodges the punch combination from Hoon.
Son shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hoon but Hoon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hoon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Son moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoon leaves Son with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Son closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hoon circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Son. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Son tries for a takedown but Hoon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Son throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hoon's waist but Hoon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Son off to one side.
Son shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hoon but Hoon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Son is breathing heavily.
Son uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hoon.
Hoon misses with a straight right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hoon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Son dives in and grabs Hoon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hoon pushes down on Son's head and hops out.
Son shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoon tries to sprawl out of it but Son keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hoon misses with a hook.
Hoon just misses with a punch to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Son closes the distance and clinches up with Hoon, looking for a takedown. Son pushes Hoon against the cage but Hoon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hoon lands a big right hand that sends Son crashing to the mat! Hoon stays standing though and waves Son back to his feet!

It looks like Joe Son has been cut.
Hoon drops Son with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Son! Hoon dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
