Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Garrett Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Guidry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Guidry's choice of entrance music: Du Hast. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Day bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Guidry! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Guidry is rocked!

It looks like Ronnie Guidry has been cut.
Day throws a big right hand that misses.
Guidry is still in real trouble! Can Day finish him?
Day trying to control but Guidry is working from the bottom.
Day postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Day loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Guidry seems to have recovered his senses.
Day might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Day stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guidry swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Day working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Guidry trying to keep a closed guard but Day is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Day misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Guidry.

Day throws a right and a left that both miss.

Guidry shoots in and bounces Day off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Guidry stops Day from standing up.
Day looking for a sweep. Not yet Day, not yet.
Guidry sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Guidry pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Day is keeping the position for now.

Guidry postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Day is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Guidry, into his guard.
Day trying to control the position from guard on top but Guidry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Guidry will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Guidry keeping moving, preventing Day from controlling successfully.
Day cracks Guidry with a solid left hand.

Guidry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Day working some strikes from top position.
Day trying to control but Guidry is working from the bottom.

Day is in close to Guidry's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Day works over Guidry with some ground and pound from guard.

Day wants to get up but he can't break Guidry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Day stands and throws Guidry's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Day decides to stand up, so the ref orders Guidry to his feet.
Guidry keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Day moves into the clinch.
Day is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Guidry pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Day wants a takedown but no success here.
Day goes for a takedown in the clinch but Guidry prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Garrett Day. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guidry is pressed up against the cage. Day has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Guidry down to the mat. Guidry avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Guidry avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Guidry ducks under a wild hook from Day.

Day jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Guidry gets a takedown into half guard.
Day is trying to stand back up but Guidry is controlling him

Guidry is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Guidry stalling away here and it's allowed Day to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Day manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Ronnie Guidry's cut.
That's time! Day's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Day stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Day misses with a few strikes there.
A big right from Day misses.
Day dips to his left and cracks Guidry with an uppercut!

Guidry shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Day manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Guidry looking to improve position, pressing down on Day's thigh with his hand. Day seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Guidry paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Guidry's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Day picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
