PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Kiwalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and kaison frandsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying frandsen's choice of entrance music: bitches. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Kiwalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, kaison frandsen!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
frandsen throws a nice looking combination but Kiwalski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kiwalski tries to land a leg kick but frandsen saw it coming and moves away.
frandsen takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
frandsen looks gassed!
Kiwalski connects with a vicious head kick that knocks frandsen to the floor! Kiwalski dives in looking for the finish!
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - frandsen has eaten all the pies!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Kiwalski stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Kiwalski looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks frandsen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

frandsen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kiwalski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
frandsen tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
frandsen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kiwalski gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
frandsen forces his way into half guard.
Kiwalski is staying active underneath frandsen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
frandsen frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kiwalski slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

frandsen wants to pass the guard but Kiwalski is keeping the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

frandsen wants to break free but Kiwalski has control.

Kiwalski takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

frandsen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kiwalski!
frandsen avoids the attempt from Kiwalski to control.
frandsen prevents Kiwalski from getting the reversal.
Kiwalski wants to control but frandsen is having none of it.

Kiwalski is desperately trying to improve his position but frandsen has a good base and remains in mount.
Kiwalski holds on for dear life, controlling frandsen's posture momentarily.
Kiwalski is squirming around, avoiding frandsen's attempts to control the action.

frandsen jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kiwalski is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kiwalski and frandsen has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
frandsen tries to advance position but instead Kiwalski slips a leg back in to half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kiwalski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kiwalski.
Kiwalski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in frandsen's guard.
Kiwalski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
frandsen wants to get back to his feet but Kiwalski is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kiwalski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kiwalski works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kiwalski prevents frandsen from improving his position.
frandsen is trying to stand up here but Kiwalski is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Kiwalski tries to bum rush frandsen with a series of wild strikes but frandsen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
frandsen wants to get back to his feet.
Kiwalski on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
frandsen wants to pass to mount but Kiwalski is defending the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

frandsen is looking for a kimura but Kiwalski is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for frandsen to get the leverage.

Kiwalski is trying to control the position but frandsen postures up.

Kiwalski wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

frandsen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
James Kiwalski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
frandsen is looking to slow Kiwalski down with leg kicks.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kiwalski.

frandsen is trying to escape the mount.
frandsen is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Kiwalski is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Kiwalski tries to control but frandsen wriggling away.

Kiwalski with shots to the head and body - frandsen looks very uncomfortable down there.
BOOM! Kiwalski connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Kiwalski is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. frandsen is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. frandsen flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kiwalski anticipates the leg and manages to get behind frandsen and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kiwalski slips an arm under frandsen chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kiwalski has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kiwalski is squeezing on frandsen like an anaconda would it's prey. frandsen fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
