The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devan moves out of range of the strikes.
Devan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Al Hassan.
Al Hassan throws a jab but it's blocked by Devan.

Al Hassan misses with a double jab.
Al Hassan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Devan has time to react.
Al Hassan misses with a hook. Devan ducked under it nicely.
Al Hassan throws a nice looking combination but Devan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Al Hassan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Devan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Devan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Al Hassan to the mat! Al Hassan manages to get full guard.
Al Hassan is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Devan dives into side control.
Devan wants to control but Al Hassan is keeping him busy.
Al Hassan is pushing Devan's head away, looking to escape. Devan manages to hold on to the position though.
Devan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Al Hassan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Devan looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Al Hassan is avoiding damage well.
Devan looking to control but instead Al Hassan has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Devan stalling away here and it's allowed Al Hassan to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Devan throws a strike but Al Hassan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Devan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Al Hassan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Devan is working an open guard so Al Hassan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Devan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Al Hassan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Devan tests Al Hassan's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Devan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Al Hassan's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Abdul Al Hassan will probably get the nod.

Al Hassan throws a right hand that Devan ducks under and follows up with a left that Devan also avoids with ease.
Al Hassan tries to clinch but Devan is having none of it.
Devan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Al Hassan.
Abdul Al Hassan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Al Hassan looks to score with a jab to the body but Devan is just out of range.

Devan is rocked!
Abdul Al Hassan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Devan walks straight into a right hand from Al Hassan - that's dropped him! Al Hassan jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Devan from any more punishment! Devan complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
