PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Elliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Felix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Elliot might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Party Up. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Elliot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Junior Felix!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Felix misses with a hook. Elliot ducked under it nicely.
Elliot bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Felix lands a nice shot that snaps Elliot's head back.

Felix gets a clinch.
Felix works on Elliot's body with a couple of short punches.
Felix stalling against the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Felix.
Elliot is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Elliot is looking to break free of the clinch but Felix has double underhooks.
Elliot is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Elliot misses with a knee strike.
Elliot is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Elliot tries to pull guard but Felix holds him up against the cage and eventually Elliot drops back down to his feet.
Elliot tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Elliot. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Elliot is fighting off a takedown attempt but Felix is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Elliot to the mat. Elliot regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Felix is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Elliot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Felix swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A clash of legs there as Felix blocks the low kick.
Elliot shoots in looking for a takedown. Felix tries to sprawl out of it but Elliot keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Felix manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Felix shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Elliot sprawls well. Elliot wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Felix gets slowly back to his feet.

Junior Felix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Felix uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Elliot.

Elliot just misses with a punch to the body.
A big right from Elliot misses.

Felix closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Felix working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Elliot gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Felix throws a strike but Elliot avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junior Felix dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Felix throws and elbow that misses. Elliot uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Felix's guard. Nice move by Elliot!

Felix working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Elliot doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Elliot manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Felix is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Elliot's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Elliot! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Felix has tapped! This one is allllll over!
